Aurora (Patrica Clarkson), the mother of Camille and her half-sister Amma, is accused of “Münchhausen Syndrome by proxy” (she poisoned her daughters to make them sick and, therefore, become indispensable with them). it’s like she overdosed on Marian 20 years ago). She is also arrested for the murder of Wind Gap teenagers.
After the investigation, Camille decides to take her younger sister with her to Saint-Louis. The two girls seem to find a balance in life. But the happy ending was too good to be true.
Camille finds a human tooth in Amma’s dollhouse. She understands that the gouged teeth of the two murdered girls in Wind Gap (Ann Nash and Natalie) are used as tiles in the bathroom of the dollhouse. Aurora, therefore, is not the killer. This is Amma. The latter surprises Camille by discovering the truth and whispers: “Don’t tell Mom.”
” These words say it all “, entrusts Jean-Marc Vallée to TVGuide “. In her eyes, Amma expresses “I am this doll that Mommy wears”. She told her sister from the first episode: “But I’m incorrigible, like you. She just doesn’t know! ” … It’s a horror house disguised as a perfect house… It’s a punchy final sentence that takes you through the credits and makes you wonder if you heard what you heard. ”
The first post-generic scene testifies that Amma is none other than the famous Lady in White quoted several times in the series.
The second shows Amma and her friends on skates killing Ann Nash and Natalie. This is in contrast to the ending of Gillian Flynn’s book that saw Camille denounce her sister and then visit her in prison.
Sharp Objects was designed as an 8 episode miniseries with a beginning and an ending. It was sold as such by HBO. But inevitably in view of its critical and public success, the question of season 2 was raised. Big Little Lies was also going to be just a miniseries. However, season 2 was filmed.
